Our ARLA competition winner is announced along with our thoughts on the hot topics from the annual ARLA Propertymark Conference & Exhibition this year.
The 2019 ARLA Propertymark Conference and Exhibition at ExCeL London on the 2nd of April was a huge success with over 1,200 attendees. Veri-Check took our usual stand (A27) and were very happy to see some familiar faces amongst the crowd.

The hot topic of this years conference was inevitably the up and coming Tenant Fee Ban.
Following a summary of the many legal changes over 2018 from Robert Bolwell of Dutton Gregory LLP, David Cox took the stage to note the changes due under the Tenant Fee Ban and the impact on holding deposits, the restriction of tenant deposits to 5 weeks rent for AST's under £50k per annum, and the 'prohibited payments' all taking effect from 1st June 2019, with 1 year transition period for existing tenancies.
